I find inspiration for my paintings in the shapes, patterns, and rhythms of the urban landscape. My work explores the relationship between architectural elements and their natural and built surroundings. While many of my paintings are rooted in a specific place, they seek to examine the boundaries between realism and abstraction, emphasizing the visual impact of forms as shapes on the surface of the painting. Over the last ten years, I have exhibited my work in Boston and San Francisco; I have taught classes in oil painting, most recently at the Eliot School in Jamaica Plain, MA.
